APPLICATE Data Portal

The APPLICATE Data Portal serves as a framework for connecting physically distributed data centres into a unified unit. The portal provides mechanisms for documenting data, searching for data, accessing data, and transforming as well as visualising data. APPLICATE data management is built on the model that was launched for the International Polar Year, that is distributed data management where information can be located at physically distributed data centres with datasets described through discovery metadata (to enable stakeholders to find them) and use metadata (to enable consumers to use them).

All information about data management in APPLICATE can be found here:

ECMWF YOPP Dataset

Provided by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) with co-funding from APPLICATE, the ECMWF YOPP Analysis and Forecast Data Set builds on the success of the concept of a “virtual field campaign”, developed in the framework of the Year of Tropical Convection (YOTC). It provides analysis and coupled forecast data from the operational ECMWF forecasting system. Furthermore, process tendencies from various physical and dynamical processes are available for the first 48-hours of the forecasts.
